Taylor Girl Talk TGT Channel on YouTube
Posted on April 28 2018
My girls are completely mortified, but I don’t care. Shouldn’t a mother embarrass their young every now and then? Absolutely, yes! Here’s where I’m coming from and you’ll probably think I’m nuts, but I’ve got to do parenting my way and you do you. I think you’ll agree with me that keeping the lines of communication open with our kids is necessary and essential to a healthy relationship. The girls and I talk a lot and with Mike working from home, we talk a lot as a family. We sit down to dinner together as a family whenever we can… more often than not, but that still isn’t enough. I try to have one-on-one time with each girl every day, but that’s usually at bedtime when everyone is tired. I try to shut up and listen and give them the opportunity to talk and share because they’ve got a lot going on and are desperately trying to figure it all out.
I started to wonder… who will talk to these girls if I walk out the door tomorrow and get hit by a bus? Maybe I live, but I’m mute and paralyzed. Maybe my spinal cord tumor rears its ugly head again and the next surgery doesn’t go so well. I wanted my girls to hear from me and not someone else. I mean, come on, she could be 25 for all we know and what kind of advice, love and support will she give my precious girls?! Only kidding about the 25 part… Mike swears he’d never remarry. I told him that I’d haunt him into it though. I digress.
How could I create a readily accessible format of my advice, love and support that my girls could access almost anytime, anywhere? Then it hit me… I’d create a YouTube channel. That’s where Taylor Girl Talk (TGT) was born. These girls watch YouTube all the time so why not put myself in the mix? Am I in the rotation? Not really, but that’s okay. It’s there and if they miss me or want or need to hear some advice, love or support… I’m here for them, either in person or on YouTube.
Your momma loves you!!
